Editorial Policies
The principles, processes, and ethical standards that govern every editorial decision at IJSTS.
1. Editorial Principles
IJSTS is committed to publishing high-quality, original, and ethically conducted research that advances science, engineering, technology, and innovation for environmental, economic, and societal sustainability. Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope. Neither nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, nor commercial interests influence editorial decisions.
2. Editorial Independence
The Editor-in-Chief has complete editorial independence over all published content. Editorial decisions are made without influence from the publisher, sponsors, advertisers, funding agencies, authors' institutions, governmental organizations, or commercial entities. Editors are expected to act solely in the interests of scientific integrity.
3. Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial relationships that could reasonably be perceived to influence the work (research grants, employment, consultancy, honoraria, stock ownership, patents, advisory positions, personal relationships, academic competition). If none exist, authors should state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
Reviewers should decline assignments where they have conflicts involving personal relationships or recent collaborations with the authors.
